Founded in 1995, Music Reports is the world's leading provider of music rights administration services. They hold the world's only independent database of music publishing copyright information. Special Modern Design created the brand strategy, naming, identity, trade show and site design. They were in serious need of an upgrade that more appropriately represents that they are a major player in the accountability of music.

The icon's story is twofold: the bars represent the accounting side of the company resembling a graph, and it can also be seen as equalizer bars that relate to the auditory aspect of the business.

Often we draw parallels from an established brand. This approach helps propel the meaning of the brand beyond graphics and becomes easier to imply the direction we wish to explore.

Ah, the inevitable tradeshow booth. We added a movable side banner that showcases their top-line clients to give event-goers a quick first impression.

The previous name of this company was MRI (Music Reports Inc). We proposed a simpler approach that does not have medical implications. The employees, in particular, were very pleased with the change.
