Founded in 1995, Music Reports is the world’s leading provider of music rights administration services. They hold the world’s only independent database of music publishing copyright information. Special Modern Design created the brand strategy, naming, identity, trade show and site design. They were in serious need of an upgrade that more appropriately represents that they are a major player in the accountability of music.
Here is what the dated website looked like when we approached this project. The logo they were looking to change was the uppercase MRI with the music lines (staff) going through. It wasn’t just a logo they were seeking to upgrade —and we never just offer that service— it was time for a revamp.
The icon’s story is twofold: the bars represent the accounting side of the company resembling a graph, and it can also be seen as equalizer bars that relate to the auditory aspect of the business.
